Audio Cassette Players
Does anyone still play cassettes? Well some
people do; because even with CD’s, there’s nothing like the
flexibility of magnetic tape. Some people have much loved ageing boom boxes or
treasured old walkman personal steros. The problem is cassette players do wear
out. The belts and pinch rollers are prone to wearing out, as are the motors.
When that happens tape decks tend to start playing at the wrong speed. Which is
irritating enough when playing, it is even worse for recording. Often these are
parts which if sourceable can be replaced.
The DIY directory is intended if you already know
a friend who could fix your machine, if they had the right parts.
