Bubble-wrap, polystyrene chips, shred, poster tubes etc etc. Alexei Sayle once wrote an article in The Observer about his Jiffy Bag problem. How many people did it strike a chord with? At the time there was no solution. Now, however, thanks to community organisations such as Freegle and Freecycle there might be.
Categories
Bubble-Wrap – There is often a demand for this on Freegle and Freecycle (usually from people who are moving house and need to wrap up precious items)
Jiffy Bags – Freegle or Freecycle are possibilities
Poster Tubes - If in decent condition, with their end bits, then Freegle or Freecycle are possibilities. If the end bits are missing, then cardbord recycling may be a quicker and preferable option.
Polystyrene Chips – It may be possible to rehome these on Freegle or Freecycle; Although there does not seem to be much demand for small amounts of them.
Polystyrene Foam – there is not much you can do with this, as it tends to be moulded to fit round specific objects. However, FP International (in Northamptonshire) do apparently collect it for recycling.
Shred – Probably best added to paper recycling, although it may be worth offering on Freegle or Freecycle.
